Christine Eagon shares selected images from two decades of combining art and travel. This exhibition features one of a kind Polaroid transfers, postal art, and photo-based paintings.
Inner Light was founded in 1986 by photographer Shedrich Williames (a friend and protege of Ruth Bernhard). Today, the group includes 22 photographers who work in a wide range of photographic styles and media, from classic black and white landscape to manipulated imagery, from street to semi-abstract photography, from alternative process dating back to the beginning of photography to the latest in digital imaging. All of the members of Inner Light are exhibited photographers, and the group shows together frequently. The Oregonian, in a review of one of the group’s shows commented: “what makes this diversely profiled group of photographers so fascinating (is) a range of appreciation of the silvery medium and a common search by its individual members for genuine expression.”
A wide range of creations from Northwest artists is on display for the month of December. Focusing on the stories we’ve told each other since the dawn of time – ancient, modern and personal mythologies are all represented.

Christine Eagon let a cat out of her camera bag, and photographed him visiting ancient standing stones, next to classic gargoyles, totem poles, frolicking amongst frogs, or relaxing on a Scrabble board in her studio. Felix the wonderful, wonderful cat’s travels with Christine started the summer of 1990 on a trip to England. The exhibition at Angst Gallery chronicles this creative photographer’s international travels with a small stuffed Felix, various camera formats using a variety of films and processes.
